Top 10 Most Read Snooker Stories of 2020

There has been a lot to write about this year.

We’ve nearly made it to the end of another year so it’s time to wrap up the annual review on SnookerHQ by recalling the top 10 most read snooker stories of 2020.

It’s been a rather different twelve-month period, with plenty of interuptions and disruptions in the wake of the unexpected coronavirus outbreak that has wreaked havoc worldwide.

Even so, whether it has been in front of a packed audience or behind closed doors, a lot of snooker has still been contested.

Like in any other year, losers have been consoled and champions have been crowned, with the sport bouncing back from the lockdowns and defying the restrictions to sustain a relatively busy schedule.

Over the last few days, we have looked at some of highs of this year, among them Ronnie O’Sullivan’s sixth world title at the Crucible Theatre and the work that has been put in by all the support staff to keep the circuit operating.

There was also a look back at some of the lows, which obviously revolved around all the trials and tribulations related to COVID-19.

For SnookerHQ, it was another successful year despite the fact there were several months without any action to actually report on amid the first widespread lockdown.

This year, the site attracted more than 1,250,000 page views – a new record, eclipsing the 2019 figure by more than 100,000 hits.

There have been 437 published posts, with visitors coming from 217 territories around the world – from the UK and Ireland to Guam and Yemen.

An enormous thank you to all of those who contributed to SnookerHQ’s success in 2020 – especially all of the readers, who, by continuing to support the site, help to make the devotion of time worthwhile.

With your help, we can make 2021 even better.

Here are the top 10 most read snooker stories from 2020. Happy New Year!
